Original Description
On First National Bank, Chewelah, letterhead, the officers of the bank detail the history of the bank. The history details include establishment of the Bank of Colville, Chewelah Branch in 1902 and change in name to National Bank in 1907. The letter speaks of the 1913 Federal Reserve Bank act and the belief that, due to this act, made money panics an impossibility in the United States. This was seven years before the start of the Great Depression in the United States.
